If you are training to be a teacher you will be offered the choice of a bachelor’s degree and than a master’s degree. Both will allow you to do certain things depending on what the degree offers, will you be allowed to teach at a college or will your degree only work for an elementary school? • Bachelor’s degree: For a bachelor’s degree you will learn the basics of what it means to run a classroom of children. You will need to learn structure and poise and garner certain elements that you may not be used to in order to run a classroom successfully and without any cause for problems, these elements will be taught to you in a timely matter and you will most likely be allowed to, based on what your degree entails, teach very early education such as Kindergarten through 2nd grade classes but again this depends on the degree and college.

• Master’s Degree: Once a master’s degree is gained within the field you can go a step beyond, you may choose to stay in elementary and teach higher grades such as 3rd through 5th grade (6th grade depending on the school as well) and you will be allowed to enter into the higher tier as a middle school and high school teacher. This degree will even open up the possibility of becoming a school principal though that depends on how many years of teaching you give in first before you are allowed to make the jump.
